David HADLEY, Deacon:

They lived for a time in Eden, ME, then Mount Desert, ME in or near the village of Southwest Harbor, and finally in Franklin, ME. His occupations were variously farming, storekeeping and lumbering. They had nine children. Note: On Pg. 367, "Minstrelay of Maine", is a poem titled "The Bear Hunter of 1836". It recounts the exploits of David Hadley and others in chasing a bear and killing it in its den on Seal Cove Mountain. They also resided on Beach Hill, Norwood Cove, in Trenton and Franklin, ME. David and Nancy had nine children; four boys and five girls. Benjamin was the second child and second son.

There is a record in Book 1 by Eben Hamor, page 225 that David Hadley was paid $1.27 by the Western Meeting House in March 1830.
